Under this section you will find the answers to the most common questions asked of the Better Bones team. If you can't find what you are looking for please contact us and we will be happy to help. 

If you have been diagnosed with osteoporosis or have one or more of the risk factors present you could be eligible to access the programme. Why not register and find out.

We determine your eligibility on a range of health questions. If your doctor has never told you that you have osteoporosis or osteopenia, and the outcome of our assessment shows that currently you are not at risk of developing these conditions, we will recommend you a range of other, locally run exercise programmes suitable for your needs.

The Service is available free of charge.

Please wear light, comfortable clothing suitable for exercise and trainers or shoes with rubber sole. Also remember to bring your water bottle with you to keep hydrated throughout the class.

If you have a friend, relative or work colleague who is interest in the Better Bones service provide please ask them to register on the website or to give us a ring first. The will have to be assessed by one of our qualified instructors prior to being able to undertake the exercise programme. 

If you are not able to attend one of the classes please let us know in advance.

Your exercise instructor will consider your level of fitness and will ensure that the exercises are appropriate to you. Some of our service users have never done formal exercise classes prior to coming to Better Bones and some exercise regularly. The sessions follow a circuit format, including upper-body, core and lower-body exercises. Your instructor will provide you with options from beginners to more advanced variations for each exercise to ensure that you can manage them.
