I was contacted by the Bone Health Service towards the end of last year having been found to be in the "at risk " category of contracting osteoporosis. I subsequently attended twelve exercise classes which were specifically designed to help strengthen bones. The exercises were not difficult and could easily be continued at home.
The instructor who ran the class also kindly arranged bone scans for us via our GP's and I was found to have the early stages of osteoporosis.
If it were not for this referral I would have remained ignorant of the condition, whereas I am now on medication from the GP.
I am extremely grateful to the Bone Health Service for the opportunity to attend the exercise classes and also for all of the information that we were given on maintaining good bone health.
I can highly recommend taking the opportunity to attend the Bone Health Service exercise programme.
